The position of Finance Assistant presents the opportunity to

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 6 months

THE ROLE
To become an integral member of the Finance Team assisting with the
production of reliable financial and management information, annual
financial statements and year-end accounts, budgets, analysis and
reports.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Minimum 3 years? experience in an accounting administration role
is essential.
* Accounting technician or similar qualification desirable.
* Work prioritisation, time management and the ability to take
ownership of duties.
* Good IT skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft
Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Experience in using accounting software, prior experience of Sage
would be an advantage.
* Diligence, timeliness and accuracy are essential qualities to the
successful performance of the role.
* High level of numerical accuracy.
* Ability to follow direction in order to achieve competency in
duties.
* Ability to communicate concisely and respond promptly to
correspondence.
* Ability to work as part of a team, to tight deadlines,
demonstrating flexibility and enthusiasm.
* Applicants must be able to show knowledge of the history and ethos

JOB PROFILE
* Complete download, checking and import of rent payments daily to
the Trust?s housing management software.
* Complete tenant rent assessments and adjustments as required.
Assist with new tenant sign-ups.
* Create daily rent batches and post adjustments to tenant accounts
as required.
* Assist with rent and key deposit refunds.
* Provide support for the annual rent review process; ensuring that
tenant rent review files are fully up to date and maintained in a
manner that enables ease of access.
* Assist with inputting, checking and reconciliation of data
including carrying out daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reporting
routines.
* Assist with maintaining tenant and property information on the
Trust?s housing management software, ensuring that data is accurate
and up to date.
* Deal with all tenant issues and enquiries in a sensitive and
professional manner.
* Generate tenant correspondence through the Trust?s document
manager system.
* Assist with taking rent over the phone.
* Assist in other duties as required, including reception relief
cover. Channel all tenant service demands and enquiries in a timely
and appropriate manner.
* Assist with inputting to the Sage **Apply on the website**
accounts software.
* Assist with the preparation of statistical returns.
* Provide support to the Assistant Financial Accountant and Finance
Officers when required.
* Assist with administrative, filing and general shared duties
across the Finance Department.
